Review all the program information on the web page at nursing.deltacollege.edu or the Student Information Brochure available in Locke 213.

Consider attending an information session offered by the Director of Health Sciences. The schedule is available on the department web page and in the nursing department office.

Review your own personal commitments regarding work hours, other family responsibilities, and personal goals.

Review the information on criminal background clearance and determine if this will be an inhibiting factor in completing psychiatric technician education training.

Complete and submit an prerequisite courses to San Joaquin Delta College. Prerequisite Veryifications may be accessed online from the college home page at www.deltacollege.edu or at the eServices Lab in Goleman 115

Submit official transcripts for prerequisite courses taken at other colleges to the Evaluations Department at the college. Include a letter requesting the transcript(s) be evaluated for PT program prerequisites. Also request that a copy of the transcript evaluation be sent to you.

Complete college assessment testing to determine placement in college courses.

Schedule an appointment with a counselor to select courses, determine course completion timelines, and schedules at (209) 954-5650.

Complete all prerequisite courses.

Submit a Prerequisite Verification to the for PT program during the application period.        (Usually Fall - specific dates to be announced at a later time).

Submit the Prerequisite  Verification AND ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION including an official transcript for courses taken at other colleges, to Admissions and Records prior to the stated deadline date.

Attend the random selection drawing. The date will be posted on the department web page and via flyer placed in the Prerequisite Verification packet.

Selected students will be notified by mail.

If selected, submit the Acceptance/Refusal Form prior to and no later than the stated deadline.

Enroll in Psychiatric Technician 80 and Psychiatric Technician 81 at your registration date and time.

Complete and submit all clinical requirements as early as possible as but no later than the stated deadline:
• Physical exam
• Immunizations
• Professional level CPR
• Malpractice insurance
• Purchase skills lab kit
• Fees for background check
• Fees for Assessment Testing System

Attend the Welcoming Reception hosted by senior students.

Purchase course syllabi, textbooks, uniforms, etc.

Review schedules for first day and first week of first semester nursing courses.

Attend classes.
